Dennis Long

Dennis Long joined the Monmouth University football coaching staff in the spring of 2022 as the Special Teams Quality Control, Assistant Long Snappers/Kickers/Punters Coach. Long served as the Hawks' Special Teams Coach in 2023 and was elevated to Special Teams Coordinator in February 2024. The 2025 season will be Long's fourth in West Long Branch and second as Special Teams Coordinator.

Monmouth’s special teams unit made a significant impact throughout the 2024 season, with multiple players earning conference and national recognition. TJ Speight was a dynamic playmaker in the return game, earning Second Team All-CAA honors as a kick returner and multiple All-Purpose accolades from Phil Steele. Punter Luke Schabel also received recognition, securing a spot on Phil Steele’s Fourth Team All-CAA list for his contributions in flipping field position. The Hawks’ special teams unit delivered clutch performances all season, with Michael Calton Jr. and Makhi Green each earning CAA Special Teams Player of the Week honors following wins over FAU and Fordham, respectively.
